No other Audi sedan in its livery is more deserving of the S badge than the S8. Perhaps its greatest advantage is starting from the already luxurious A8, which includes an all-aluminum unibody chassis, standard all wheel drive, and a plethora of safety features. When a powerful V8 or V10 (depending on the year) is then combined with a track-tuned suspension and brake package, the result is a performance, luxurious, and technological masterpiece that is not easily rivaled. Most characteristic of Audi's subtle approach to luxury is the S8's lack of flamboyance - a trait you will find in its competitors. But from behind the wheel, one would be hard pressed to find a flaw in its design. Audi S8 parts are not cheap, and it takes a trained mechanic to maintain this fine automobile. Fun fact: the second generation S8 (2007-09) came with a V10 engine sourced from the Lamborghini Gallardo.
