BMW channeled its past in the creation of the BMW Z8. At the turn of the century, retro styling was in and most automakers turned to their past for inspiration. BMW was lucky to have the 507 roadster in its past and hired Henrik Fisker to style an update. Many BMW Z8 parts are unique to the car but that uniqueness and low production has kept the car in demand with high resale values. The last models offered were automatic versions made by Alpina.
