Initially, the Dodge Dart was a full-size vehicle offered by Dodge starting in 1960. It possessed many of the classic styling and design cues from the late 50?s and early 60?s that you?d see on Chevy, Ford, and Cadillac vehicles of the time. By 1963, however, it had evolved into a compact car aimed at taking market share away from the Nova and Falcon. Through the mid-70?s, the Dart was a benchmark for compact performance, and its Demon and Sport models continue to be highly sought after vehicles so finding Dodge Dart parts can be difficult. Today, the Dart is most recently a compact sport car released under the Dodge marquee, but shares nothing in common with the previous model. It?s still sporty, but the engine is much smaller and more fuel efficient, and is front-wheel drive. Fun fact: Dodge changed the name of its Dart Demon to Dart Sport in 1973 after religious groups? objection to the model name and devil & pitchfork logo.
