Quietly, the Ford Escape became one of the biggest out of the park homeruns in Ford history. Bucking the trend of separate chassis, beam axles, and fuel swilling engines, the Ford Escape parts are made of a unibody, all independent suspension and fuel efficient engines including a hybrid. The original design remained so competitive that is stayed in production from 2002-2012. The same basic vehicle was also sold as the Mazda Tribute and Mercury Mariner. The completely redesigned second generation continues the original?s attributes but adds much more up-to-date body work and smaller but more powerful and fuel efficient Ecoboost engines. They are manufactured in Louisville, Kentucky with the Lincoln MKC.
