GM's effort to market a small line of inexpensive vehicles that would compete with Japanese imports was the inspiration for the Geo brand. The sportiest offering to come out of the Geo line was the Storm. It was a rebadged Isuzu Impulse, made in Japan, and offered as either a sport compact hatchback or wagon. The Geo Storm was only produced for four years (1990-93), but sold well despite being less than enthusiastically reviewed by critics. Performance was praised, but styling received a lot of thumbs down. There are still tens of thousands on the road today, and sometimes replacing Geo Storm parts is necessary to keep the car in tip top shape. Fun fact: in 1993, Sport Compact Car magazine named the Geo Storm number three out of ten best of 1992.
