History of Honda

Honda LogoFounded by Soichiro Honda in 1948, the Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is not only the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles, internal combustion engines and auto parts - it's also the sixth-largest automobile manufacturer! Soichiro was an automobile enthusiast from an early age, working as a mechanic at the Japanese tuning shop Art Shokai while studying mechanical engineering. He later created a new piston design he sold to Toyota and even built a factory to produce the pistons, which was later demolished by an earthquake. During WWII gas shortages prevented most Japanese citizens from using their cars, so the company developed small two-cycle engines that could be attached directly to bicycles. These popular conversions eventually evolved into the Cub motorcycle, and the Honda Motor Company became the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world by 1964. Honda released its first production light truck just one year earlier, the T360, and has been enjoying tremendous growth ever since. Which means there's a huge need for aftermarket replacement or OEM components to keep these well-engineered and meticulously-built motorcycles, cars and trucks performing at their best.
