History of Jeep
Since 1941, Jeep has been a name synonymous with utility. Not only is it the oldest off-road and sport utility vehicle brand in the world, but it has been on the forefront of 4x4 (4-Wheel-Drive) technology and engineering since its inception. The company began life as a contract between Willys and the US Military, producing inexpensive and reliable vehicles and Jeep parts capable of performing on virtually any terrain. Their line has predominantly included sport utility and off-road vehicles, but has at one time also included pickup trucks.
The most popular model is the Wrangler or CJ (Civilian Jeep). It is a no-frills 4x4 with solid axles, and is commonly modified by members of the off-road community.
