The Lincoln Mark VIII was the first Mark to offer an all-independent air suspension and a double overhead cam V8. All these new Lincoln Mark VIII parts were wrapped in spectacular new styling. The cars turned heads with neon tail lights and HID headlights. The large personal luxury coupe that was so popular in the 70s was fast losing customers who were opting instead for sedans and SUVs. This model was discontinued after the 1998 model year. Sadly, the Mark VIII as the last of the Mark series offered by Lincoln. There were the MK9 and Mark X concept cars shown and there have been plenty of rumors of a revival, but so far a new Mark coupe has not been introduced.
