The Lincoln Town Car name stretches back to the earliest Lincoln's in the 1920s. Town Car originally referred to not a model name but a body style. The Town Car was the same style as the Coupe de Ville and signified a chauffeur driven sedan with an open top driver's seat and a completely enclosed passenger compartment in the rear. The name became an option package on the model range for a few decades before becoming a model in its own right in 1981. The Town Car virtually cornered the market on limousines and chauffeur driven cars in the last four decades. The panther-based Town Car was finally discontinued in 2011 but the name lives on as a fleet only version of the MKT. Check with Car Parts Discount for all your Lincoln Town Car parts.
