Though it was only produced for a few short years, the 300CE was a highly-praised addition to the 124 chassis lineup. It was offered as a 2-door coupe or sedan, and featured the same 3.0L fuel-injected 6-cylinder engine as the 300E sedan. It had a slightly lower drag coefficient which made it more aerodynamic, and a shorter wheelbase which improved handling slightly. However, it succumbed to a large increase in weight due to the need for extra bracing for safety compliance. You'll find that Mercedes-Benz 300CE parts are almost all the same as can be found on a 300E, except for some of the body parts that are unique to the different body styles.
