Depending on the year it was built, a Mercedes C280 could be one of three different cars in the Mercedes lineup. From 1993-2000, it was the 202 chassis. It was a 203 chassis from 2000-07, and from 2007-09 it was a 204. Many Mercedes-Benz C280 parts are shared across most vehicles in their respective chassis. All C-class vehicles during those years are compact, front engine, rear-wheel drive cars. And the "280" refers to the 2.8L inline 6-cylinder or V6 engine found under the hood. This was an extremely popular vehicle, as it was the entry-level car offered by Mercedes for quite some time and could be heavily optioned to fit most buyers' needs.
