Mini Parts

Select Your VehicleCreated in 1959 as one of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) models, the Mini was the British answer to the Beetle. It was designed with a unique Mini parts such as a transverse mount engine and front-wheel-drive, thus saving the majority of the interior space for passengers and luggage. Its popularity was also bolstered by the Cooper and Cooper S editions' victories at the Monte Carlo Rally. It was an icon of the 60's; being featured in countless television shows and films of the time, thus creating a huge market for enthusiasts and collectors.

Mini Components

Only minor changes to the car followed from the 70's through the 90's, including (but not limited to) changes to the suspension, brakes, and an increase in engine size and efficiency. Most Mini parts remained the same, which made the vehicle relatively cheap to produce. Passionate owners appreciated the dedication to the original design, however the brand was constantly changing ownership which threatened the car's future.

When BMW took over, it knew that the platform would be a perfect launching point for a compact addition to its line. While still producing the Mk VI and VII models, BMW made a number of concepts that traded on the look of the original car while using performance brand hallmarks such as rear wheel drive. Ultimately, this lead to the birth of the BMW 1-Series while the Mini was slated for a complete redesign.
