The first generation cars were very successful offering an advanced turbo engine and all-wheel drive. Mitsubishi Eclipse parts proved to be very popular amongst street racers and customizers. Early on, the Mitsubishi Eclipse parts were shared with the Plymouth Laser and Eagle Talon but those were eventually discontinued and only the Eclipse remained. They all had a high amount of style and equipment for the price. Somewhat controversially, the subsequent versions of the car were larger, heavier, and were front wheel drive with a V6 for the top engine. The last Eclipse was produced in 2011 after more than two decades in production in Normal, Illinois. Whichever Eclipse you own, they are stylish affordable sports coupes.
