Like many of Nissan's vehicles, the Pathfinder has been a long running success. Launched as a 1986 and a half model, it really came alive in 1990 when it was offered with four doors for the first time. The Nissan Pathfinder was one of the first sport utility vehicles on offer and was well positioned when the vehicles became popular in the early 1990s. Now the Pathfinder is on its fourth generation but they have alternated in design, the first and third generations being body-on-frame truck designs and the second and fourth generation being more car-like unibody designs. No matter the generation, Nissan Pathfinder parts offer great reliability and quality. A V6 has always been offered but the current model dropped the big 5.6 liter V8 in favor of a supercharged four cylinder hybrid setup.
