Named after the island off the coast of southern California, the Pontiac Catalina perfectly represented the breezy new hardtop body style. Later it became its own full size model. It replaced the Cheiftain as the lowest priced full-sized model. It was available over the years in 2 and 4 door (with or without post), station wagon, and convertible body styles. The Catalina name survived until 1981 when all full-size Pontiacs were discontinued although a full-size Parisienne was offered by the end of 1983. Some years, Pontiac Catalina parts were from all other GM brands making the Catalina an amalgam of General Motors parts. Check out the suspension and steering category for more Pontiac Catalina parts.
