A SAAB with a V8? A SAAB made in America? Yes, and yes. The Saab 9-7X took two "first in America" accolades with those two attributes - along with being the most expensive SAAB ever made. Assembled at the GM plant in Moraine OH, many of the Saab 9-7X parts were the same as other GM mid-size SUV's of the same era. This would have been a cost saving measure, except the entire front clip was different, it included a more responsive steering rack & pinion, stiffer front springs, pneumatic air suspension in the rear, and an interior that was more in line with SAAB styling than that of Chevy or Olds. It also included all wheel drive, driving the price even higher. Unfortunately, the 9-7X only saw three solid years of production before being downsized in 2008 and then completely cancelled in 2009. If you are lucky enough to have one of the 600 or so Aero models, then you already know that it boasts a 390hp LS2 Corvette V8 that can score mid-12s in the quarter mile.
