Toyota again rebranded the ist model for export to the US in 2008, and called it the Scion xD. It was the replacement for the underperforming Scion xA, and boasted a much more stylized appearance and stronger engine. It was slightly larger than the xA in most every way, but still fit easily into the subcompact category. Upgraded convenience features like a premium Pioneer or Alpine stereo with iPod interface, navigation & GPS, and DVD playback were available too. Scion xD parts are often found on the Toyota Yaris, since they are both based on the same platform. But owners of an xD know that they have a much more stylish and hip car to drive. Fun fact: in 2009, Scion released a limited production of RS 2.0 models in electric wasabi green.
