Contemporary television advertisements compared the introduction of the Previa to the landing of a UFO. Its specifications were unique for any minivan sold before or since. Most minivans have front-engine front wheel drive designs but the Previa was mid-engine and rear wheel drive. Later models also offered all-wheel drive. Complaints about the 2.4 liter four cylinder being underpowered were met by adding a supercharger to the engine. It was also well known for the space age interior including a "pregnant" dash that jutted into the passenger compartment. The egg-like styling and a high price meant that it was not a sales success though and it was replaced by the more conventional Sienna in 1997. Check our website for all or your Toyota Previa parts.
