The third generation Toyota Camry offered a coupe for the first time. Though a nice car, it was basically just a two door version of the sedan. The Toyota Solara came to market next and offered much different styling than the sedan. It was sporty looking and even a bit more upscale than the standard Camry sedan. A cloth top convertible was also sold throughout the production run. . The Toyota Solara parts were sold over two generations between 1999-2008 model years. The first few years it was marketed as the Camry Solara but the badges on the car only indicated the Solara name. The last two Camry generations have not offered a Solara or coupe or convertible body style. All Solaras were front wheel drive with V6 engines.
